World Foodless Day Activities in 10 Districts of Andhra Pradesh

October 16th was World Food Day; however some groups found it more appropriate to commemorate 'World Foodless Day' in remembrance of the millions of people suffering from hunger and food insecurity around the world.
The Andhra Pradesh Vyarusaya Vruthidarula Union (APVVU) organized activities in 10 districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Public hearings were conducted simultaneously in various districts, focusing on corruption and discrepancies involved in the implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act public employment program and pending land issues.
